What Is Groupon?
Groupon is a website and app that gives you access to all types of deals in your area. It is free to download and there is no monthly fee. The only cost is for the service or activity you are interested in.
Groupon has deals for travel, local businesses, and a range of consumer goods. By subscribing to Groupon’s email list, you will receive deals for an additional 20% off of the already discounted price. Very similar to Amazon, all the deals listed have customer ratings and reviews so you’ll have the information you need to make an informed purchasing decision.
If you don’t want to download the app, Groupon also has a website. However, the app makes it easier to view and redeem the voucher purchased without having to print anything out. All deals list an expiration date but Groupon offers a full refund within three days of purchase and the option to trade in your deal for a new one up until the expiration date.
Groupon has been around since 2008 and I have been an active user for the past six years. I have taken advantage of deals on oil changes for my car, couples massages, and even vitamins. Some of their most popular categories are:
- Beauty & spa
- Health & fitness
- Local activities and events
I love Groupon because they are continually adding new deals. They also have a “deal of the day,” which can include an additional discount or a code worth $10 off any deal. If you’re ever stuck in a waiting room or just plain bored, use it as an opportunity to scroll through Groupon to see what gems you come across.
Groupon tells you if a deal is trending, which means that it is a particularly popular item that day. You can even see how many people have viewed and purchased the deal, making it easy to keep up with the latest trends.
Current Beauty Deal Trends
Beauty deals on eyelash extensions, nail treatments, and hair salon services are always popular. However, with Groupon, it doesn’t end there. You can also save money on everything from Brazilian butt lifts and B12 shots to CoolSculpting and liposuction.
Curious about Microblading, laser hair removal, or teeth whitening? Well, Groupon makes them more accessible. Beauty treatment options are nearly endless and you can search by price, distance, and rating. The current pandemic may have impacted some of these service providers but this information is listed for each deal on the Groupon website so you will know about any restrictions before purchasing.
If you have ever wanted to try an aesthetic wellness procedure but assumed it was out of your budget, Groupon has you covered. These treatments are no longer reserved exclusively to the wealthy and elite. You deserve these experiences too and Groupon makes that possible.
Are you already familiar with Groupon? Have I just been preaching to the choir or did you download the app before finishing this article? Any deal stand out? Either way, let me know in the comments!
