#1: How River Oaks Bookstore Manages the Impact of COVID-19 by Ashley Paramo

Unfortunately, the coronavirus has affected all aspects of life. For us who love books, it has been difficult to not run to the bookstore screaming when we can’t get in the door…no? That may just be me. Our bookstores have to do what they think is best for business. In this article, we look at how one in Houston, TX, is surviving these lockdowns. And, it serves as a reminder to all that we need to support our local businesses.

#2: A Review of the Savior’s Champion by Jenna Moreci by Simbiat Ayoola

This book sounds so intriguing! I want to find a copy and read it. To me, it sounds like a different version of Hunger Games. Which by itself is a draw. This glowing review by Simbiat Ayoola makes me want to find it immediately.

#3: 6 Gorgeous Book Covers that Will Blow You Away This Year by Stephanie Stott

Book covers. They are a point of contention. Don’t judge a book by its cover ring any bells? But, I definitely will pick up a book just for its cover. Stephanie Stott gives us a list of beautiful books to discover as we wait for bookstores to open.

#4: J.Lo’s Daughter, Emme Muñiz, Writes First Book by Ally Kutz

I have a confession. I love sloths. To know that Jennifer Lopez’s daughter is writing a picture book about sloths and prayer is extremely satisfying. I am excited to see how this picture book turns out when it hits stores in October.
