Pride month is not only for raising awareness and showing support to the LGBTQ+ community. Pride month is also to thank the LGBTQ+ members for the lessons they have taught us. If there is anything in the LGBTQ+ movement that has inspired us, they are the books. Books made by unique individuals. Books that share amazing quotes about love and self-acceptance.

LGBTQ+ Quote From Books to Inspire #1:

An LGBTQ+ Quote from Kent Marrero from Books to inspire.

This quote is from the queer/non-binary writer Kent Marrero. The quote is in the book The Unsung Love Story, an LGBTQ+ fictional novel. And it is a perfect quote to describe the book. Like many stories from Kent, the book is a young adult novel with LGBTQ+ intersectional characters. It is an LGBTQ+ book with a love story from two lesbian characters.

I particularly find this LGBTQ quote as an amazing way to explain love itself. Love can not be measured; love is not tangible. Just as the quote says, we can not pretend to contain love under any human conception. That is something humanity must learn if we want to evolve. For that reason, this is a quote to inspire all of us to love freely.

LGBTQ+ Quote From Books to Inspire #2:

This is an quote from the young adult and children book writer, David Levithan. The quote is from his LGBTQ+ young adult romance book, Two Boys Kissing. This book follows a love story based on real events-the story of Harry and Craig, two 17-year-old boys who take part in the 32-hour marathon of kissing to set a new Guinness World Record.

To me, this is an LGBTQ+ quote to raise awareness about self-acceptance. Despite how hard are things in society, we still have the power of being who we are. Accepting ourselves is on our hands.

LGBTQ+ Quote From Books to Inspire #3:

An LGBTQ+ Quote from Abhijit Naskar.

This is a quote from Abhijit Naskar, one of the world’s celebrated neuroscientists and psychologists. The quote is from his psychology and philosophy book, Either Civilized or Phobic: A Treatise on Homosexuality. This book pretends to humanize the work of egalitarianism. The LGBTQ+ book explains how all the stigmas attached to same-sex orientation are social constructs based on ignorance and prejudice.

For me, this is a really accurate and fair quote, especially in the times we are living in. It is totally fair to believe that all the stereotypes were just made by humanity based on fears and ignorance. This is an LGBTQ+ quote that resumes a basic principle we should take: there is no fair reason for discrimination.

This is an LGBTQ quote to raise awareness about embracing the LGBTQ+ community. This quote is also from the psychologist Abhijit Naskar. The quote is from his masterpiece book, Either Civilized or Phobic: A treatise on Homosexuality. This book calls upon the consciousness of reshaping the normal and stereotypes of humanity, basing the new ideals on humanism.

This is an LGBTQ+ quote that has to be applied in all the contexts possible. In my opinion, someone that discriminates or rejects can not be considered human.

This quote also raises awareness about the injustices that the LGBTQ+ community constantly receives. It is a quote to inspire all of us to love and support our LGBTQ+ community.

For me, this was a really overwhelming piece to write. Even though I am not part of the LGBTQ+, I feel like we all are responsible for loving them and supporting them. We are responsible for changing the world and raising awareness about a human’s right to be different. I really hope these quotes can inspire you as much as they inspire me. And happy pride!
