Star Wars: Heir to the Empire was a fabulous book written by Timothy Zahn. In this collector’s edition, we travel back in time to the first book made after the original Star Wars trilogy.

Star Wars: Heir to the Empire starts off with the Empire in shambles. The New Republic now controls more ground than the evil Empire. Although the Empire is not on its last leg yet. They need to start a new war and take back control of the galaxies.

All the players are back, Han Solo and Chewy in the Millennium Falcon. Princess Leia and Luke. R2 and C-3PO. Even Lando is back in the action.

Admiral Thrawn now heads the Empire’s military. He has a secret weapon to dispose of Luke Skywalker and the Jedi once and for all. He’s plan is perfect, so long as no unexpected counteractions take place. Can the Jedi’s stop Admiral Thrawn and the Empire? Read to find out.

My Opinion of Heir to the Empire

This was an exciting book. My first time reading. The book has great action sequences and lots of tension. It builds upon the storyline and adds depth to all the major characters.

I enjoyed watching Luke squirm and figure his way out of a mess he lands in. Not one of his own doing. We get to visit Chewy’s home planet of Kashyyyk. Did I mention Princess Leia is pregnant? Can Han keep her safe? Can she still do her job for the New Republic?

This was an impressive addition to the Star Wars universe. I couldn’t put the book down.

For Die-Hard Fans and Writers

I had the special collector’s edition of Star Wars: Heir to the Empire. This book was complete with annotations in the margins. Every thing Zahn was thinking and planning as he penned in the margins. Get inside the mind of an author, and learn how he made his decisions.
