Despite looking simple, the Crash Bandicoot games were tough to beat. Finally, we’re getting a brand new game! Here are my expectations for Crash Bandicoot 4!

#1. New and Exciting Levels

Crash Bandicoot is a platform game. It may seem like repetitive jumping and box-smashing, but puzzle levels have always been tough to decode. I am looking forward to new brainteasers in Crash Bandicoot 4 with much smoother gameplay.

Bonus Stages are essential to the Crash series. They were levels you gain after collecting specific tokens through each level. Bonus Stages give players a reason to get all the boxes in each level and earn extra lives. The new Crash Bandicoot will surely have its own take on Bonus Stages, and I can’t wait to see what craziness the Activision team comes up with!

#2. New Crash Bandicoot Abilities

Everyone’s favorite marsupial has always had his signature move: spin attack. Through the years, Crash upgrades his ability list. In Crash Bandicoot 2 and 3, we get introduced to the Slide, the Body Slam, the Double Jump, and many more.

The Crash Bandicoot Twitter page released a video of Crash walking on the ceiling during a level. This move sounds both insane and exceptional! As you can see, Crash runs into an item that appears to be a suit of some sort, which allows him to switch from floor to ceiling. I can’t wait to try this one out!

#3. New Collectibles

Every Crash Bandicoot game includes multiple collectible items. The main collectibles have been gems. Different colored gems appeared in levels that would take you to unique parts of the stage. Normal, silver gems could only be obtained by hitting all the boxes in each stage, but sometimes you needed the colored gems to hit all the boxes. There were also the speed-run relics for each stage in later games.

I can only imagine what new collectibles Crash Bandicoot: It’s About Time will bring to the table. Will there be the same gemstones with the same criteria? I hope the game incorporates extra items with new strategies to figure out and drive us all insane.

What about you? What are you looking forward to in the upcoming Crash Bandicoot 4? Let us know in the comments!
