With the Coronavirus pandemic raging on, many of us are still staying home as much as we can. When we run out of Netflix shows to binge, what’s always there for us?

We’re starting this list off with one of the most iconic RPGs of the last fifteen years: Fallout 3. The original Fallout titles were fantastic in their own right, but the series revival of Fallout 3 introduced an entirely new audience to the nuclear wasteland.

Although people talk endlessly about how fantastic Final Fantasy VII is, I don’t think we give nearly enough credit to Final Fantasy VI. Despite being almost 30 years old, this classic still holds up.

You control 14 unique characters as they fight against a malevolent empire bent on controlling the world. With a narrative layered with love, drama, comedy, and chaos, it’s no wonder why the story of Final Fantasy VI is widely considered one of the best in the genre.

Back to American RPGs, we have what many consider some of BioWare’s greatest work: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Although a Star Wars title, this RPG is accessible enough to be enjoyed by anyone. Though it’s getting up there in age, Knights of the Old Republic remains one of the most prestigious video games of all time.

This fantasy RPG is notorious for being a game with endless replay value, a vast world to explore, and simple but addictive gameplay. Despite being a sequel, new players can easily pick this game up and let it introduce them to the world of Elder Scrolls.
