On July 14, 2020, the game trailer everyone had been waiting for in the Sims community finally dropped. The Nifty Knitting stuff pack will be available to play on July 28. Here’s what I’m most excited about.

A graphic that says "Nifty Knitting Stuff Pack" with an electric green background and three sims. One is a child wearing a knitted hat and holding a knit stuffed bear. There is a female sim wearing a new knit top, and a male sim in a rocking chair knitting a scarf.

My excitement for this Sims 4 stuff pack is a little different from those in the past. This isn’t the first community voted stuff pack (I’m looking at you, Laundry Day,) but it’s the first one I’ve gotten to vote on! It was so refreshing to have my voice heard for game pack content.

Nifty Knitting was, admittedly, not my first stuff pack choice when the original voting happened. I was hoping for something more supernatural (I love playing sims who are members of the Occult,) but I soon caught the buzz for a knitting pack. Here are the things I’m most looking forward to adding to my Sims 4 game with Nifty Knitting.

Knitting, Duh!

Getting a new skill added to the game is always exciting. I can’t wait to see what kinds of creations my sims make! From sweaters to hats to knitted toys, the knitting skill will be so much fun to play with!

Plus, Nifty Knitting comes with the new online store Plopsy to sell your sims’ creations on! It’s the Sims equivalent of Etsy and is a splendid way for your sims to make money doing what they love – knitting! You can create and sell one piece at a time, or make and sell your knitting in bulk.

Rocking Chairs for All Sims

I have missed having rocking chairs in my game! The Sims 3: Supernatural expansion pack featured them, and I used them all the time to have my sims rock their babies and toddlers to sleep. I’ve been awaiting their return for some time now.

What’s even more exciting about rocking chairs is the ways your sims can use them. “Isn’t it just a chair?” you ask. Well, yes. But hear me out – I have a vision of my sims in their rocking chairs and knitting, looking out from their front porch and enjoying the view. I can’t wait for Nifty Knitting to make this a reality in my game!

Community Voted Sims Items

Like I mentioned before, Nifty Knitting is a community voted Sims 4 stuff pack. The Sims community answered five different questionnaires to help build this pack from scratch. Heck, Nifty Knitting has been in the works since November 2019, so it’s incredibly exciting to see the fruits of the Sim Guru’s labor and our voting efforts.

This is the complete list of community voted objects coming with Nifty Knitting, and it’s such an excellent feeling to see the items I voted for on there! My favorite new Sims items include the yellow door with flowers and the arts and crafts cart! What’s yours?

Nifty Knitting is a stuff pack, so it won’t add a massive amount of items or a new world like a Sims expansion pack would. However, that doesn’t mean it’s not worth the hype! I’m over the moon I get to play the Sims 4 with items I’ve helped design (in a small way.) The Sims 4: Nifty Knitting stuff pack officially drops July 28.
