The Sims 4 is a brilliant game with just the basics. For even more Sims fun, check out my picks for the top five Sims 4 packs to add to your game.

#1 Sims 4 Pack: Seasons

Coming in at number one, we have The Sims 4 Seasons! This pack, by far, has made my game feel the most real. Between the blizzards and thunderstorms, the game has a variety of new seasonal activities and holidays. You also have the ability to choose the lengths of the seasons and which holidays you want in your game. You can also decorate the outside of your house for each season!

Electronic Arts even added seasonal gardening and a new career in flower arranging. I think the career is one of the strongest features, making this one of the best Sims 4 packs. In the pack, you also get many create-a-sim (CAS) items and even more in build/buy mode. None of the other packs in the Sims 4 could have taken the number one spot!

#2 Sims 4 Pack: Parenthood

At number two, we have The Sims 4 Parenthood! When I initially heard of the release date, all I could talk about was this pack and all it offered. Parents gain the Parenting skill as they teach their toddlers, children, and teens. The major goal is to form bonds between parents and children much like The Sims 3: Generations.

This pack also allows adolescents to develop character values that include responsibility, empathy, emotional control, manners, and conflict resolution as they age into young adults. These values can affect the sims since they may not get all the traits if they don’t work on them. This is one of my favorite Sims 4 packs since you have the ability to add to your sims lives.

#3 Sims 4 Pack: Discover University

Number three is The Sims 4 Discover University! It thrilled me to hear they were returning with another university pack. This is one of the best Sims 4 packs as it captures everything university offers.

Between the late nights, heaps of loans, and lots of memories—your sims will have a load of adventures. If you’re a college student like me, I think this is one of the best Sims 4 packs for your gaming library!

#4 Sims 4 Pack: Laundry Day Stuff

Coming in fourth is The Sims 4 Laundry Day stuff pack! This tiny pack adds so much to your game. You can wash and dry your clothes in a washer/dryer combo or a washtub and clothesline if you’re going off the grid! Adolescents can gain responsibility if they do laundry.

I think adding the minor detail of laundry makes the gameplay feel realistic since your sims change outfits so much. This is definitely one of the best Sims 4 packs to add to your game!

#5 Sims 4 Pack: Cats & Dogs

Last but not least, we have The Sims 4 Cats & Dogs! The announcement of this expansion pack made the sims community blow up. Everyone had been patiently waiting for the release of animals, and finally, they were here!

Having pets in the game lets your sims create new bonds. One of the greatest features was the new veterinary skill which makes it one of the best Sims 4 packs for animal lovers. Your pets get a bunch of extra gear within CAS and build/buy mode too.

Your sims can train pets as well! I think this pack makes the game seem far more realistic with the added companions, so it’s one of the best Sims 4 packs in my book.

The Sims team has worked hard these past six years to give their community a taste of everything in their gameplay. I hope my rankings helped you decide what the best Sims 4 packs are for your library. Happy gaming!
