There are a ton of vegetables just waiting to give that nutritional benefit we need to live long and healthy lives. As we continue to incorporate those elements into our diet, be aware of unique ways to consume them.
Usually when I hear the word vegetables, I still carry the mindset I had when I was a child which is that it is yucky. As an adult, I now know that vegetables are good for your diet. However, there are still some that I choose not to eat because of the taste.
A substantial thing for me is, my taste buds have grown an interest in a couple of vegetables to the point of spinach and lettuce becoming my favorite!
Let me show you how you can include these two yummy vegetables into a few delicious meals and lunches.
Healthy Spinach Diet
I’m not really a cook, but when I cook for a healthy diet, I like to keep things as simple as possible. With spinach, I prefer to make steak with my usual spices and gather some spinach as a side and add my dressing. Simple as that.
From time to time, I also love a good spinach sandwich. I gather my regular bread, cheese, ham, tomatoes, and add my spinach in between. Though, you can add any condiments you like.
To put a spin to this lunch, you can create a spinach grilled cheese sandwich. It’s a mouth-watering goodness that melts in your mouth with its delicious flavor.
If you want to get a little interesting with your diet, I recommend trying baked spinach chips! Now I’m not familiar with this, but I learned it’s a unique way to eat vegetables.
You can also turn your spinach into a salad. Get a salad bowl, drop your spinach in, and other vegetables and fruits of your desire. Top it off with your favorite dressing. I always add cucumbers, tomatoes, and feta cheese to my spinach salads.
Healthy Lettuce Diet
Have you ever heard of chicken lettuce wraps?
Similar to sandwiches wrapped in soft tortilla shells, chicken lettuce wraps are encased in nothing but lettuce. Grilled chicken is usually added, followed by cucumbers, shredded cheese, tomatoes, and caesar dressing. But add whatever you like.
You can also twist this food idea into a caesar chicken salad topped with parmesan cheese and tomatoes. If you’re like my mom, go all out with your vegetables and include some carrots and red cabbage with all that lettuce.
Try some healthy baked chicken and potatoes with a mini salad on the side. My favorite lettuce including diet with other tasty vegetables involves a taco salad with all the fixings.
Besides spinach and lettuce, there are many ways to incorporate vegetables into your diet, along with the wide range of nutrients you probably already have in your kitchen.
