When you feed your mind with negativity, it tends to be infectious. I have 3 tips to help turn your negative thoughts into positive ones.

1. Be Aware of Your Negative Thoughts

We all have those days when we wake up in a bad mood for no reason at all. It’s those negative thoughts that are getting in the way again. But if you don’t realize you are having negative thoughts, how can you do something about them?

One tip is to carry a notebook with you. Every time you think something negative about yourself or your life, write it down. This will help you to become aware of what you are feeding your subconscience.

2. Replace Negativity

Look at all the things that you wrote that were negative. Next to each of your negative statements, write a positive one. Positive thoughts are in abundance if you just know how and where to look.

You may wonder where you are going to get positive statements from. Just look around you and be in-the-moment. My positive statements for this moment could be:

  • I have a great cup of coffee in front of me
  • I have a loving family
  • I have a roof over my head
  • I can laugh at things that make me happy
  • I know that life offers good as well as bad

3. Comparison

When we take a closer look at our inner thoughts, we can see that it’s a lot easier to have negative thoughts than positive ones. We are all human, and unfortunately, as humans we tend to compare ourselves to others. This isn’t always in a negative way, but often it is.

We sometimes long for what we don’t have. For instance, many of us want to be thinner, taller, or richer. And when we see people who possess those traits, we might compare ourselves to them. This is not a good road to go down. We have to learn to be happy with who we are. This is one of the first steps in building self-confidence. Most of all, this can help turn those negative thoughts into positive ones.

As always leave me a comment.
