We knew Julie Andrews could do it all, but she’s hardly recognizable as Gru’s mother, Marlena Gru. She changed her voice to fit Gru’s speech pattern incredibly well. With the cackling laugh and snarky attitude, Andrews fits right in.

Even with brief screen time, Andrew’s character got audience’s attention in this wildly successful animated film. She voiced Marlena perfectly, giving us an animated mother we can’t bring ourselves to despise. Remember, Mother Knows Best.

Emily Blunt voiced the animated character Juliet, alongside James McAvoy, as Gnomeo in the animated movie Gnomeo and Juliet. The classic romance takes a turn in the world of backyard gardens. With dueling families and breakable garden nomes, you will experience an alternative version of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet that you won’t forget.

Blunt’s sweet British accent is recognizable and works well for the character. Instead of a dainty Juliet, she gets to play the warrior type that protects her fellow nomes. With many celebrities voicing animated characters including Maggie Smith, Michael Caine and Ozzy Osbourne, it’s a movie you’ll want to check out.
