“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Duet. 31:6 NIV)
God Promised to Never Leave You
Just as that verse in Deuteronomy promises, God will never leave you or forsake you no matter what your circumstances are. It can be easy to forget that when things aren’t going well. Instead of focusing on that, God asks you to be strong and courageous. He asks you not to fear the things you see looming in front of you. Concentrate on the fact that God is by your side during the bad times and He’ll be right there when your breakthrough comes.
Psalm 37:25 (NIV) goes even further. In it, David reminds you that in all his years, he has never seen the righteous forsaken or their children in need. God always takes care of His people.
God Promised to Sustain You
While you’re waiting for your breakthrough, remember that God has promised to sustain you. According to Psalm 55:22 (NIV), as long as you cast your burdens on Him, you will be sustained. That means that even though things are rough right now, God will not allow you to fall to ruin. Take comfort in knowing that no matter what’s happening, God has set a limit. Your breakthrough is on its way.
God Plans to Prosper You
Not only will He not leave you alone during your time of need, God still has plans for you. Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) plainly states that God has plans for you to prosper and have hope. Doesn’t that sound like a breakthrough is coming? On top of that, you should take heart in what He said in Genesis 28:15 (NIV).
In that verse, God states that He won’t leave you until He has done what He’s promised. Isn’t that comforting? God has planned for you to be prosperous and He’s not going to go anywhere until you’ve had your breakthrough.
