A beautiful Country filled with Romanesque style buildings, there are so many things to see and do in Germany. Here are a few things to do while visiting Germany!
Things To Do #1: Visit The Nurburgring
The Nurburgring is a 13.2 mile picturesque track, in Nuremberg, Germany, is known for holding major racing events such as the Grand Prix and the Nurburgring Endurance races. The cool part about this race track is that they offer special classes to learn Formula Driving, drifting, Co-pilot rides, and even taking a sports car out to drive around the beautiful countryside. You can also walk the Nordschleife part of the track!
Things To Do #2: Driving The Autobahn
The Autobahn is located east of the Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler in Germany. The Autobahn is a super highway where you can go whatever speed you would like as long as you do it safely and there are no marked speed limit signs. The Autobahn is any race car driver’s dream. Whether you are driving a beat up ‘74 Volkswagen Type 181 or a fancy Porsche GT3 RS turbo, you are guaranteed to have fun on this Super highway while visiting Germany as you take in the scenery flying by in a blur.
Things To Do #3: Visit The Berlin Wall Memorial
They built the Berlin Wall on August 13, 1961 to keep people from immigrating from East Germany to West Germany and vice versa. Over the years, graffiti and paintings would cover the Berlin Wall by travelers and the citizens of Germany. The Berlin Wall was well over 87 miles long to help ensure that people could not immigrate into Germany from the other parts of Germany and other countries. Even though the wall was torn down in 1989, there is still a small portion of it left for people to visit.
Things To Do #4: Visit Marienplatz
Marienplatz, which translates to St. Mary’s Square, is a central square to visit in Munich, Germany. The Marienplatz is the home of both the new and old City Hall with beautiful, towering Romanesque buildings. Back in the Medieval period, it was home to many markets, German celebrations, and Geman tournaments. While in this center you can visit the Mariensaule, which is the column of St. Mary. The top of the column holds a gold statue of Virgin Mary.
